Raj Kapone meets Travs Presents, the collective making grime feel communal, competitive and exciting again. Emerging from the void left in grime's live circuit after lockdown, Travs Presents has built its own ecosystem through radio, live shows and a tight-knit community of MCs, DJs and creatives. Now, with new music in the works and shows reaching beyond London, the collective is helping introduce another generation to grime while pushing the sound forward. In Travs' words: “It wasn't about me, and it never really was about me. It's about the crew.”
JayaHadADream, Ceebo, Koder, DaMetalMessiah, N3, Jah Digga, Bib Sama and more also feature, alongside original RWD names Chantelle Fiddy, Dacre Bracey, Neesha Badass and Booo Krooo.
RWD and Boxfresh came up around the same clubs, pirate stations, record shops and scenes. Bringing it back is about documenting what is happening now, putting the magazine back in the hands of the people who made it, alongside a new generation who are building what comes next.
